Omotola, Chimamanda, Don Jazzy, Psquare Named 100 Most Influential Africans


Nigerians don’t carry last, says one of Naija adages. Recently, a new list of 100 Most Influential Africans has been released and five Nigerians entertainers, Don Jazzy, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Chiwetel Ejiofor, P-Sqaure alongside a novelist, Ngozi-Adichie Chimamanda have made the top list.

If you recall, Omotola was recently named one of the 100 most influential People in the world by Time Magazine and shortly after then, the TV personality, Mo Abudu of EbonyLife TV was named one of the few TV personalities in the world.

With all these accolades and achievement recorded by us, it’s evident Nigerians are doing well, only problem of leadership we have to contend with….May God give us the grace to do that. Amen

On if the comment bothers her: “Why would it bother me? It is one thing to be hurt over such statement and another thing to be disappointed. I wasn’t hurt and I wasn’t even disappointed. Worst things have been said and written about me but the people who know who I am would tell the difference.”

Four Arriving Passengers From US Collapse At Muritala Mohammed Airport Lagos Due To Heat!

 
There was pandemonium at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos, yesterday evening when four passengers who arrived the city from Atlanta in the United States of America, collapsed due to excessive heat at the arrival hall of the airport terminal.

According to Leadership Newspaper, the passengers, who had arrived aboard Delta Airline, were waiting for baggage reclaim when the 4 who had just arrived from the US where the temperature is much cooler, got overwhelmed by the heat in the arrival area and collapsed.

A source close to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) told LEADERSHIP Weekend that the cooling system at the airport was not working when the incident happened and that it might be due to the current remodelling of the airport.

Edo State PDP Offers the Widow Governor Oshiomole Abused N250,000


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Edo State, has condemned the inhuman treatment meted out on a widow by the State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The PDP in rescue of the widow has asked the widow to come to their office and get the sum of N250,000 to help cushion the effects her siezed goods will have on her.
This was contained in a press release signed by the state chairman, Dan Orbih.

Revealed: Aravindan Balakrishnan was arrested along with his wife last week on suspicion of keeping three woman as slaves 
Aravindan Balakrishnan - who goes by the name "Comrade Bala" - was arrested along with his wife Chanda last week on suspicion of slavery and immigration offences.
Police revealed they freed three women, a 67-year-old Malaysian, an Irishwoman, 57, and a 30-year-old British woman from a property in Brixton, south London.
Balakrishnan, 73, tried to convince recruits he was a Messiah-like figure and got them to hand over all their wages to “the cause”, said Mr Heslop, 59.
The sect leader called himself “Comrade Bala” and told disciples: “I am Christ, follow me,” during meetings at the group’s then base in Brixton, south London.
Followers were cut off from their families, while member Sian Davies was convinced to hand over her home
and £10,000 before her death in 1997.
