Bus conductor jumps into ocean after stealing N40,000
Tinubu Magistrate Court
A 26-year-old bus conductor, Nurudeen Suleiman, has jumped into the Atlantic Ocean after stealing N40, 000.
He was charge before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos on Tuesday.
The accused, whose address is unknown, is facing a charge of stealing before Magistrate Salama Matepo.
Police prosecutor, Superintendent Austin
Orji, said the accused committed the offence on March 30, 2014 at about
4.30 p.m. at the Bar Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos.
He alleged that the accused had approached the complainant, one Mr. Segun, for financial assistance.
“The man had brought out some naira notes to give Suleiman and in the process, some fell off.
“The accused on the pretext of helping to pick the money kept N40, 000 and handed over the rest to the complainant.
Its Don Jazzy Again: Don Jazzy To Produces D’Banj’s Next Album

Afro pop star, D’Banj, has revealed that he will involve his former producer, Don Jazzy, to produce his next album.
The award-winning musician disclosed this in an interview with UK radio and TV personality, Tim Westwood, recently that he is planning to do a Best of D’Banj album for his forthcoming 10th anniversary and that he is getting Don Jazzy to produce the album.
“For my 10th anniversary, I am thinking of doing a Best of D’Banj album and Don Jazzy will definitely produce it. I am going to make sure he does,” he said.

14-Year Old Girl Married Off As 2nd Wife Rescued From Forced Marriage In Lagos

A 14-year old girl from Niger Republic has been rescued
after she was forcefully married to a Bureau de Change operator in Yaba area of
Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
The girl (name withheld) was forcefully married to 25-year
old Bashiru Yaya also from Niger Republic on 29 December, 2013 while the girl
was still in Senior Secondary I at Ansarudden Academy at Randle area of
Surulere.
She was married out to be the second wife of Yaya despite
the fact that she is a minor and had the ambition of becoming a medical
doctor. Under age marriage contravenes the Lagos State Child Rights
Law.
The girl’s parents, Mr Hamidu and Mrs Abibat Ahmed were said
to have taken the girl away from school while in SS I and married her out to
Yaya after he allegedly paid 300,000 Cefas, which is equivalent to N100,000 to
them. Officials of the Office of Youth and Social Development,
Lagos State Government, got wind of it after the girl managed to smuggle a
written letter to the office narrating
how she was forced into marriage and her willingness to go back to
school.
