Prince William and Kate Middleton put on rare PDA at CW Games

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge put on a rare public display of affection when they attended a Swimming competition at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow yesterday. The couple who have been together for over 10 years, were pictured holding hands, looking into each others eyes, Kate at one point laid her hands on her husbands leg while William used her ID card to fan her. Nigerian ambassador, 3 ECOWAS staff, 55 others had contact with Lagos Ebola victim

59 people including the Nigerian Ambassador to Liberia, Chigozie Obi Nnadozie are said to have had direct and indirect contact with the late Liberian man, Patrick Sawyer, who died on Friday July 25th from the Ebola Virus in Lagos.

oint Ministerial Press briefing of the Lagos State Ministry of Health and Federal Ministry of Health on development concerning the disease yesterday July 28th, the state Commissioner of Health, Dr Jide Idris said out of the 59 people who had contact with the late Patrick Sawyer, 44 were hospital contacts (38 healthcare workers & 6 laboratory staff) and 15 Airport contacts comprising 3 ECOWAS staff-driver, Liaison, and Protocol officers, Nigerian Ambassador to Monrovia, two nursing staff and five Airport passenger handlers. We have insiders in commercial banks' suspected fraudsters confess

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected fraudsters identified as Kola Osho, Oyedepo Adesola and Kola Ademola, who allegedly specialize in withdrawing money from people’s bank accounts using dud cheques. 
 
According to Punch, the police said the suspects usually obtained the cheques from people who are experts in stealing cheque books from unsuspecting people, then they will present the cheques to their insider in the bank, who will dubiously verify the account holder and the signature before the money could be paid out. Blessing Okagbare wins Gold in Women's 100m final in Glasgow

Sprinter Blessing Okagbare just won Gold in the Women's 100m for Nigeria in the Commonwealth Games. She won in a time of 10.85 seconds in a new Games record, making her the second fastest woman of all time in World 100 metres. She beat Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown, Kerron Stewart and England’s Asha Phillip who came second, third and fourth respectively.

Bricklayer Dies While Testing Buller-Proof Charm

Pandemonium broke out in the Asipa community as an apprentice bricklayer, identified as Rasheed Sulaiman, was shot dead while testing the potency of a bullet-proof charm given to him by a herbalist.

A resident of Asipa, a community in the Ife North Local Government Area, told PUNCH Metro that Sulaiman, on Saturday called his cousin, Siji, to follow him to a secluded place to test the charm. Sulaiman wore the amulet and gave a gun to his cousin to fire at him. The cousin fired the shot and killed Sulaiman instantly.

Nichole Denby is American by birth but her mom is part Nigerian. She is on the Nigerian track team that's currently performing at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Nichole used to run for the USA team, but only recently decided to start running for Nigeria. The 31 year old mother of one explained why she switched.
"It's great honour to compete for an African country where my roots come from, and there is no greater honour for me than to do that. The USA is saturated with athletes, they have so many different people, so they really don’t need anyone else. There is no great honour for me to represent a country like this in Africa, it really is an honour." she said in a recent interview...
