Nollywood Actor Jnr Pope Odonwodo and his wife Jennifer got engaged a year ago, and married in Delta state this July.

The couple shared their proposal story on Instagram… he told someone to tell her he was cheating, but it was the ultimate set up for the proposal.
Here’s her story in its entirety,
“Before that fateful day,,Esther & I had been talking & she told me that a girl/fan (Ojeah) was coming from London and she already made arrangements on a hotel where she would stay and that my man would be spending a day or two with her at d hotel……I asked Esther how she got the info,,she said my man told her hubby and her hubby told her in confidence…but cz of d likeness she has for me,,,she wouldn’t want me fooled/hurt……………I was irked,,,I was hurt,,but I was strong enough not to shed a tear…..after further

Celebrated and popular Nigerian entertainers, Sound Sultan, Phyno, Gordons, and a host of other entertainers took Lagos by storm with their exceptionally superb performances at the Amstel Malta Showtime finale, which held at the Unilag Indoor Sports Hall last week.

Photos: Boy has chopstick removed from brain after shoving it up his nose

A 2 year old Chinese boy named Huang Zicheng had to have a chopstick removed from deep within his brain after he accidentally shoved it up his nose. The chopstick penetrated three inches into his brain and doctors who spent four hours carefully taking it out of the little boy's skull said if it had gone any further, it would have caused brain injury.

Thankfully, the chopstick did not damage any major nerves and arteries and Huang expected to make a full recovery. Continue...

Police detonate two explosive devices at University of Uyo

The police command in Akwa Ibom said it had detonated two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) found in the male hostel of University of Uyo. Confirming the incident in Uyo on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Etim Dickson, told newsmen that the explosives were home-made.
Dickson, who said that the IEDs were likely produced by science students of the university, said investigations had commenced on the matter.

He assured the students on campus and parents not to entertain any fear about possible breakdown of law and order in the university community.

PHOTOS: Governor Fashola hosts some Ebola survivors

 
Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Fashola, today September 18th, hosted some Ebola survivors at his office at the state Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja. Speaking with the survivors, the governor commended them for coming forward to share their experiences, saying that they are proof that the disease is not a death sentence.

The survivors in attendance included the widow of late Port Harcourt doctor, Dr Emenuo Kelechi (left), Dr Ibeawuchi Morris (second left), Dr Fadipe Akinniyi (centre), Mr. Dennis Akagha (late Nurse Justina Ejelonu's fiance) and Dr Adaora Igonoh. See more photos below:

South African football coach arrested in Nigeria for drug trafficking

38 year old South African football coach, Steven Darlugar (pictured), was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for drug trafficking.

The married father of one was arrested during screening before boarding an Arik Air flight to South Africa. He is said to have neatly packaged the drugs which tested positive for methamphetamine in a compartment before it was discovered by officials.

When interrogated, Steven said he was promised $6,000 if he successfully trafficked the drug and that he ventured into the crime to support his family as the money he was making as a coach wasn't enough
