A woman's virginity is her pride, a treasure for her future husband but these 5 women, (according to reports online, they are among the World's most expensive virginity auctions), decided to do something else with theirs.
They were told they could monetize their purity and gain lots of real good money and they did just that. Check out the list below:
Graciela
In 2005, 18-year-old Graciela Yataco (pictured above), a model from Peru, was responsible for her mother's medical bills and also had to support her younger brother. So she decided, in an unprecedented move, to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. She auctioned her v-card for $1,300,000 (N213million)!
Natalie
In 2008, 22-year-old Natalie Dylan received a bid of $3.7 million (N606million) after auctioning her virginity through Moonlite Bunny Ranch to fund her master's degree. She publicized her auction on The Howard Stern Show.
Alina
In 2009, 18-year-old Alina Percea from Romania auctioned her virginity so that she could afford to pay for her computing degree. She received £8,800 (N2.2million) from an Italian man. The 45-year-old man who won paid for her to fly to Venice where the couple toured the sights before spending a night in a luxury hotel. Alina, who underwent two medical examinations to prove her virginity, said: 'I liked the man and got on with him well. He didn't look 45, and he seemed much younger. I enjoyed it."
Unigirl
In 2010, a poor New Zealand student, who was only known by her pseudonym “Unigirl,” successfully auctioned her virginity to help pay for her university fees. After receiving 1,200 bids for her purity, Unigirl accepted an offer for $32,000 (N5.2million) which she said was “way beyond what I dreamed.” She was also grateful for the more than 30,000 men who took interest in her ad.
Catarina
In 2012, 20-year-old Brazilian student Catarina Migliorini sold her virginity for a staggering $780,000 - (N127million) after she put it up for auction online. A man called Natsu, from Japan, fended off strong competition from two American bidders, and an Indian big-spender, to secure a date with the 20-year-old student. Catarina insisted she is not a prostitute and that she only did this to make a positive impact on the world by raising money to build homes for poverty-stricken families in her hometown.
Some of the reasons they gave for doing this was that they needed the money to fund their education, but does that make it right?
