Alaba allegedly obtained the sum from one Olutoyin Ogundipe by falsely representing to her that the money represented the cost of rent for a three bedroom flat located at Plot 8, Oladimeji Alo Street, Lekki Phase One, Lagos.
Count one of the charges reads: “That Olusola Alaba (a.k.a Babatunde Salvage, Anthony Adekunle Okundalaiye, Lateef Tokunbo Alli, Magnus Obe) on or about the 20th day of June 2011, at Ikeja within the Ikeja Judicial Division of the Lagos State
High Court with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N1.490.000 ( One Million, Four Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira Only) from Olutoyin Ogundipe by falsely representing to her that the said sum represent the cost of three bedroom flat located at Plot 8 Oladimeji Alo Street Lekki Phase One which representation you know to be false.”
The accused person pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
However, persecution counsel, Francis Usani, urged the court to proceed on trial and remand the accused person in prison custody.
