Yesterday Thursday 27th February 2014, African-American publication Essence Magazine held its 7th Annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon in Beverly Hills, California, USA.

Lupita who is nominated for an Oscar for her role as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave, was honoured at the event. She arrived looked stunning as always in a white sleeveless crop top and skirt from Giambattista Valli‘s Spring 2014 collection.
When accepting her award, Lupita who was introduced by Alfre Woodard - her co-star, discussed on dark beauty. I think we can all agree that part of Lupita’s success is because of her skin colour.

The President and his deputy were filmed 'working out' in between meetings and signing documents to the Superstars TV show theme tune (better known in the US as the Monday Night Footballmusic).
Other than working off the effects of all those State dinners, their aim was to raise more awareness of Michelle Obama's Let's Move campaign which tackles child obesity.
According to the video, the pair were persuaded to get their sweat on "in response to the overwhelming number of people around the country who showed us how they move using the hashtag #LetsMove".
First Lady Michelle Obama set up the let's Move campaign four years ago to tackle the problem of obesity among American children and to help them lead a healthy life.

Wife of Super Eagles' captain, Adaeze Yobo has finally come out to rubbish reports making the round that members of her family are angry with Joseph Yobo for not marrying her in the traditional way.
There have been rumours speculating in the media for some weeks that the Eagles skipper's in-laws are extremely angry with him because he is yet to marry Adaeze traditionally.
All this is not true, Adaeze’s Nigeria media representative, Abiola Aloba has said.
“The story is a misrepresentation of Joseph Yobo’s marital status. I spoke with his wife, Adaeze in Istanbul, Turkey few days ago, she just laughed it off. She said it’s only her father who can claim such and not one faceless person, who has no trace or identity."

A woman, Sitabai Chouhan was rushed to a hospital in India after she had attempted suicide by swallowing rat poison.
It was when the nurses at the hospital helped clean the poison from her system that a shocking discovery was made.
The woman’s genitals had been secured with a padlock.

Her husband, 38-year-old Sohanlal Chouhan, was questioned by police. Police learned that Chouhan put the padlock on his wife’s genitals nearly four years ago because he feared that she would be unfaithful to him. He allegedly cut holes into his wife’s genitals and locked it with a padlock.

Nigerian Football Federation today February 27th unveiled a brand new
jersey our national team would use during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in
Brazil. The jersey, which is lemon green, will be officially launched on March 5th when the Super Eagles meet Mexico in a pre-world cup friendly which will take
place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Yesterday Wednesday 26th February 2014, Afro-beat legend Dede Mabiaku,Nigerian-German singer Nneka and R&B singer Darey Art-Alade, were unveiled as new judges for the singing reality TV show at the Rhapsody Lounge, Victoria Island, Lagos
They are replacing Femi Kuti, Yinka Davies and Jeffrey Daniel. Yinka and Jeffrey were judges since the first season. Femi Kuti came on board in Season 2 taking over from Audu Maikori.
IllRymz will be returning as the host of the show. Guests at the event include past winners – Yeka Onka, Moses Obi-Adigwe and Mercy Chinwo.

A middle aged man in Abia has died after reportedly having sex with a commercial sex worker in the state.
Ogadinma Chukwu is said to have slumped and given up the ghost while indulging in intercourse with the unidentified prostitute in a brothel.
The unfortunate incident is said to have occurred at the St. Michael’s Road environs of Aba, the state capital.
The Nation reports:
The incident, it was learnt, forced people at the brothel to flee. The area was deserted, as traders and shop owners closed businesses to avoid arrest.
Although there has not been any medical report on the cause of the death, people were of the opinion that the man could have died, following cardiac arrest or exhaustion, as he was foaming.
The Nation gathered that the prostitute, having noticed that her customer had slumped and died atop her, contacted her colleagues and the brothel workers, who dumped his body behind the brothel.
