Gunmen Abduct Bayelsa Speaker’s Younger Brother
Latest news coming out of Bayelsa state indicate that unknown gunmen had kidnapped the younger brother of Bayelsa State House of Assembly Speaker, Iniokpoemi Benson.
According to Leadership, the speaker’s brother was abducted as early as 3am on Monday, 4 August, 2014 in Korokorosei community of Southern Ijaw local government area in Bayelsa.
As at the time of compiling this report, details of the abduction are still being expected.
Meanwhile, this latest kidnap brings to three the number of high profile kidnaps in Bayelsa in the last two weeks.
It would be recalled that some unknown gunmen had kidnapped Senator Emmanuel Paulker’s 90-year-old mother on Wednesday, 29 July, 2014.
It was reported that the abduction of the federal lawmaker’s mother, Florentina, took place at her residence in Opolo-Epie, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Also, a 77-year-old mother of the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Surv Furoebi Akene, was freed on 16 June, 2014 after she was kidnapped for three days.
Madam Patimi was reportedly abducted on 13 June, 2014 without any gunshot and whisked away by armed men numbering about six from her home close to the Fonibiri community waterside at about 12am.
